Planview's new releases blend PPM and EA for work and resource management

451 Research | December 21, 2016

In this report, 451 Research Analysts Carl Lehmann and Liam Rogers highlight how Planview has updated its project and portfolio management and enterprise architecture platforms to version 13, adding a roadmapping product, an integration platform and advanced analytics. They also write:

“Its R&D investments are directed at integrating the capabili¬ties of tactical PPM with the strategic capabilities of enterprise architecture management software. The com¬pany believes, as do we, that the two should be inextricably linked. The gradual evolution toward a common UI and experience should help project managers and enterprise architects collaborate better to align business strategy with IT investment efforts. Enhanced support for analytic tools like SSRS and Power BI should help accurately expose the results of projects. The purchase of Innotas is reportedly helping Planview expand into Europe and expose it to new opportunities, not just with midmarket vendors but also among larger firms with less-mature PPM practices and resources.”
