Managing Up to Enable Change

Managing Up to Enable Change

There is a lot of content explaining what good agile practices look like, but not enough discussion on how to get traction with key leaders who can support the change necessary to implement these new ways of working. Driving change is difficult, especially when you don't have formal authority to enact these necessary changes.

When the reality of this tension sets in, there is no longer a desire to keep trying, and the tendency is to check out altogether, while waiting for the day to be in charge. However, there is a problem with this approach. Promotion generally goes to those being recognized for their leadership.

So, then what can be done?

In this roundtable attendees will explore:

  1. Time-tested principles to manage up and build champions.
  2. Actionable steps to accelerate positive change in their organization.
  3. How to advance their career, improve the lives of coworkers and ultimately their customers

What if you could deliver more products to your customers without an increase in the annual budget, and improve motivation at the same time?

Join us, along with special guests, Brian Hooker and Richard Moir, authors of the book, The Waste Detectives, as we discuss how to identify the most common system conditions (blockers) of waste in a change system.

Registrants will learn:

  • The need for waste data in teams.
  • How to flag and capture waste data.
  • How to identify the top blockers of waste.
  • How to begin influencing leadership on the importance of waste.
  • Some key problem-solving techniques for removing waste from your organization.
