Gartner Report - Beware of One Size Fits All PPM Tools
July 2019 | Gartner Report
According to Gartner, "A single platform or a single PPM-product approach to adopting PPM technology for digitalbusiness is not flexible enough to support both the evolving, distributed portfolio managementneeds of SROs and EPMOs and the continuous delivery needs of workgroups and teams.”1
Scaling digital business is driving PPM leaders to redefine their PPM technology strategy to include standardizing the use of modern portfolio management for strategic planning and decision making, as well as the use of multiple work management tools that can support continuous delivery.
Per Gartner, "Aside from standardizing the use of an independent, strategic portfolio management technology,PPM leaders must also diversify their collection of work management and execution tools withinreasonable limits and without introducing unnecessary tool redundancy. Doing so will support theautomation of the multiple approaches that different workgroups and teams are adopting to drivecontinuous delivery.”2
Read this report to learn what Planview believes to be insightful information from Gartner on the considerations for both types of technology needs as youevolve your PPM technologyfootprint to support both strategy and delivery for digital business.
